The opening scripture is from 1Timothy 4:6-16
There is no school for you to learn how to be a father, it’s something you learn on the job. You have to learn how to be a father by being a father. God has given us the Word to be a guide on how to be impactful fathers. The system here is designed to emasculate men. If you’re going to build your values on the values that the system gives you’ll be frustrated. So build your values on the Word of God. In Titus 2:7 the bible says "Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity and sound speech that cannot be condemned, so that an opponent may be put to shame, having nothing evil to say about us". Every man is a king, prophet and a priest In 2Chronicles 34:1-the bible says "Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign, and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem". We can see from the scripture that Josiah walked in the pattern of David, this is the kind of impact the Lord wants fathers to have. A fatherless generation will always do what is right in their own eyes. Therefore, it is important for every father to take responsibility so their children will do what is right in the sight of God. As we have positive patterns we also have negative patterns as seen in 2Chronicles 28:1-5. Ahaz was twenty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem. And he did not do what was right in the eyes of the LORD, as his father David had done, but he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel. He even made metal images for the Baals, and he made offerings in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom and burned his sons as an offering, according to the abominations of the nations whom the LORD drove out before the people of Israel. And he sacrificed and made offerings on the high places and on the hills and under every green tree. JUDA DEFEATED- Therefore the LORD his God gave him into the hand of the king of Syria, who defeated him and took captive a great number of his people and brought them to Damascus. He was also given into the hand of the king of Israel, who struck him with great force. Be an example of a believer in love, purity, positive communications so your children can follow after your positive patterns. Genesis 26-28 covered the life of Isaac, he was a father of impact. Isaac was a person of faith, he never wavered when his wife, Rebekah was barren. Isaac was a man of peace, there is no record of Isaac fighting a battle. Isaac was a man of diligence and finally he was a child of obedience. When you are a man that is conscious that you are a seed of Abraham, you will not loose your crown. So ensure the study the Word of God, follow the examples of men like Isaac and you will definitely be an impactful father Agents of latter glory are wanted. The Bible says in Haggai 2:7-9 "And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, And I will fill this house with glory, says the LORD of hosts. The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, declares the LORD of hosts". The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says the LORD of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, declares the LORD OF hosts". This passage makes every right thinking believer stand on his feet. The greater story of this church is not behind but it’s in front. What God has done with you is introductory it’s small compared to His wholistic plan for your life. God is leading you to a place greater than what you have ever experienced.
What is glory? Glory is the overpowering presence of God. There is a difference between present and presence, we are in a generation where people go to church for God’s present not His presence. Whatever you are looking for is in His presence. God is looking for acute seekers for His presence and He will be ever present so even when the present expires he can give a new one. Ask yourself, Why are am I here? Is if for His presence of what He can offer? In 1Samuel 4:5-21 the bible says As soon as the ark of the covenant of the LORD came into the camp, All Israel gave a mighty shout, so that the earth resounded. And when the Philistines heard the noise of the shouting they said, "What does this great shouting in the camp of the Hebrews mean?", And when they learned that the ark of the LORD had come to the camp, the Philistines were afraid, for they said, "A god has come into the camp". And they said, "Woe to us! For nothing like this has happened before. Woe to us! Who can deliver us from the power of these mighty gods? These are the gods who struck the Egyptians with every sort of plague in the wilderness. Take courage and be men, O Philistines, lest you become slaves to the Hebrews as they have been to you; be men and fight". So the Philistines fought, and Israel was defeated, and they fled, every man to his home. And there was a very great slaughter, for there fell of Israel thirty thousand foot soldiers. And the ark of God was captured, and the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, died. The Death of Eli A man of Benjamin ran from the battle line and came to Shiloh the same day, with his clothes torn and with dirt on his head. When he arrived, Eli was sitting on his seat by the road watching, for his heart trembled for the ark of God. And when the man came into the city and told the news, all the city cried out. When Eli heard the sound of the outcry, he said, "What is this uproar?" Then the man hurried and came and told Eli, "I am he who has come from the battle; I fled from the battle today". And he said, "How did it go, my son?" He who brought the news answered and said, "Israel has fled before the Philistines, and there has also been a great defeat among the people. Your two sons also, Hophni and Phinehas, are dead, and the ark of God has been captured". As soon as he mentioned the ark of God, Eli fell over backward from his seat by the side of the gate, and his neck was broken and he died, for the man was old and heavy. He had judged Israel forty years. Now his daughter-in-law, the wife of Phinehas, was pregnant, about to give birth. And when she heard the news that the ark of God was captured, and that her father-in-law and her husband were dead, she bowed and gave birth, for her pains came upon her. And about the time of her death the women attending her said to her, "Do not be afraid, for you have borne a son". But she did not answer or pay attention. And she named the child Ichabod, saying, "The ark of God had been captured and because of her father-in-law and her husband. And she said, "The glory has departed from Israel, for the ark of God has been captured". God was interested in the relationship and not the structure. From this passage we can see the tragedy of the absence of God. They are: 30,000 soldiers were lost, the ark was taken away by the uncircumcised philistines, two sons of Eli died, Eli died and his daughter in law had an emergency labour. What was important was the relationship with God, so ask yourself do you have a personal relationship with God? 2 Samuel 6:11 says "And the ark of the LORD continued in the house of Obedeoom the Gittite three months; and the LORD blessed Obedeom and all his household. Therefore, you must fully surrender to God instead of surrendering full-time to the devil. Remember to be a committed believer so you can receive God's Glory. In our generation, we need to bring back the ark, we need to move beyond routine services and worship. God has a standard and it is uncompromising. As we look forward to greater revival, we must use God’s standard. It doesn’t matter where you are coming from, your case is different because you have a covenant with God. For every young person this is the time of your madness for the Kingdom, to do the work of Him that sent you. You cannot be facing a full time devil while you’re a part time Christian. Come up full time for God you will never regret it! |
